Of the more than 2,000 Greek islands, 168 of them are inhabited, and Nomad can move you to all of them. We have specialist expertise in moving to the Greek islands, since shipping to Greece is our core business. Although we’re based in the UK, we specialise in moving people to the Greek islands, where we’’ve moved hundreds of families over the past 15 years.

Expertise

Unlike many UK removal companies who have a page on their website for Greece (and every other country in Europe), we are genuine specialists. We have our own team based in the Greek islands, who are familiar with all of the difficulties and challenges involved in moving to these beautiful islands. From tiny villages to homes on the edges of cliffs, they’’ve seen it all. Besides moving our customers to so many different islands, they’’ve also moved to Greece themselves, so they know what it is like! They know the ferries like the backs of their hands, they understand local customs and they have specialist knowledge of many of the islands.

The roads on Greek islands are often so convoluted and narrow that trucks (including container trucks) simply cannot reach most properties. Therefore it is essential to have shuttle vehicles available, and we have our own on site, so our customers always know we can reach their door. We’’re Not Afraid

Occasionally our customers move to villages where even cars cannot enter, but our team never shies away from the challenge, and we can make other arrangements where this is necessary in order to ensure the delivery is made.

A few islands, such as Hydra, ban cars and trucks altogether! For most companies this would instantly mean that the removal is impossible, but not for Nomad. With a lot of planning and advice, we were able to arrange a full door-to-door removal from the UK to this tiny island, using boats and donkeys to bring the goods to the house before carrying everything inside. Towns and Cities on Greek Islands

Even on the Greek islands, some of the towns are very built-up, and specialist skills are again required due to the density of the housing and the difficulty involved in safely transporting fragile possessions into apartments. For example, in Aghios Nikolaos, Crete, we successfully delivered a very expensive Bosendorfer concert grand piano as part of a full door-to-door removal from the UK.
